What is he talking about?!?

I talk to this guy long distance. We have no met, but plan to in March. I know he is nervous (as he is shy). We were talking earlier, and he was fine. Then, out of nowhere he IMs me saying something about being mad, and I, naturally, said why. He said "girls" and I said huh? He wouldnt answer and wouldnt answer. Finally he said something about him being a dummy and me being cool and he doesnt see what I want from him. I told him I'd tell him. He wouldn't answer his phone. Then he eventually said it was something about work. Any ideas? It was so random and out of the blue. I asked if he was drunk. He said "a tiny bit". Just so weird. Any ideas?
