Late night Ear infection pain relief??

I have what seems to be a really bad ear infection. At first I thought it was swimmers ear (which I had last summer) but this pain was unbearable and I also started to go deaf in my right ear. I went to the doctor and she told me that i had an inner ear infection and a ear wax build up that has harden (which is why I can't hear). She poked and probed in my ear and seemed to have made it more painful. I guess when she realized the wax was to hard to get out she gave me ear drops to soft it, amoxicillin and ibuprofen. It has been 2 weeks now and I been back twice and the pain is ridiculous! I can't sleep! I can't eat! I feel like ripping my ear off. I don't know what to do to get me through the night. HELP!
