Is it possible for a text message to be delayed for a month?

i have been seeing a guy for about 4 months and i recieved a text message the other day at 5am in the morning.. it said no more texts xxxx i didnt recognise the number so i asked who it was then a couple of days later i got a message sent to me by this guy im seeing saying why are you texting my computer! i told him id recieved this text from an unknown number and what was he doing sending me it at that time in the morning? he said he had sent it to me over a month ago on his computer dongle because he had no credit on his phone! obviously i didnt believe him so i was a bit wary about it and asked him who it was meant for.he said it was meant for me and if i dont believe him i can have a look on his computer as it has the date on it when it should have been sent.. it was a bit random and hes sent me messages before like this but on his mobile and the way theyve come across its as if they wernt meant for me. ive asked him if he is texting other people and hes said he only texts me and he loves me etc. i cant understand why a text could be delayed for over a month.. is it possible? if hes messing me about its over he must think im thick or something..could someone please tell me if it sounds dodgy to them.. because if hes lying about it hes gone.. i hate cheats and lyers
