Try not to take it personally. Unfortunately, in a way you kind of brought it upon yourself by asking them on their opinion, but they shouldn't have replied so rudely. Don't blame yourself for being sensitive, just remember that for every rude and blunt person out there, there's 100 more polite and friendly people out there.
