Do you think Macbeth was manipulated by Lady Macbeth, or do you think he could have stood up for himself?

Do you think he could have resisted an inability to change? Do you think he was truly repentant at the final battle; in other words, did he experience a catharsis? Was it too late? I'd love to hear your guys take on this. Thanks.
